QFES Medal

The Clasp A clasp may be awarded to a medal recipient upon completion of each increment of 10 years subsequent to the initial qualifying 10 years of service if the recipient maintains the integrity, diligent and ethical standards required. Insignia design The QFES Medal is a circular antique bronze medal ensigned with the QFES badge. The blue ribbon features six vertical stripes of white and gold. NOTE: From 1 July 2016 this award replaces the QFRS Diligent and Ethical Service Medal.

Recipients of the QFRS Diligent and Ethical Service Medal (DESM)

Members of the QFES workforce, paid and volunteer, awarded a DESM prior to 1 July 2016 will continue to receive the DESM clasp upon completion of each 10 years subsequent to the initial qualifying service if this service maintains the integrity, diligent and ethical standards required.

QFES Honours and Awards

Nominating officers are to complete the official nomination form and submit to the appropriate manager for endorsement. It is the responsibility of the nominating officer to ensure that the individual’s details are correct and to ensure that, to the best of their knowledge, the individual they nominate meets the eligibility criteria. Managers will be responsible for considering nominations in regards to eligibility and either endorsing the nomination for progression or providing notification that the nomination will not be endorsed. Endorsed nominations are submitted to the Honours and Awards Team with integrity checks conducted before being progressed to the Deputy Commissioners. The QFES medal is approved and awarded by the Commissioner, QFES. The final outcome of the nomination will be advised in due course. More information and forms • QFES Medal Nomination Form
