The distribution of pressure along both transverse and longitudinal profiles is rarely uniform. 2. The measurements in this table represent the peak pressures measured in a transverse profile at each of the ballast conditions at maximum tire inflation pressure. 3. For most applications, it can be assumed that normal operation of the pneumatic compactor will result in the ground being subjected to pressures near the maximum during at least one machine pass.
