Barbara Pogačnik
Barbara Pogačnik (born 1973) is a Slovenian poet, translator and literary critic, with a degree in Romance linguistics and literature from Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and an MA from the Sorbonne in Paris. Her poetry in translation has appeared in 23 languages. She is a frequent performer at international literary
events, and has been writer-in-residence in Poland, Great Britain, Albania, and Austria. She is on the editorial board of the literary magazine Literatura , and taught at the Department of Translation Studies at the University of Ljubljana. “Submerged Grape” has been translated by Ana Jelnikar & Stephen Watts; “Pumpkins Lying in the Field” translated by Ana Jelnikar; “Landscape with Jellyfish” translated by Julija Potrč & Christopher Meredith; “A Lamb at Night, a Lamb at Morn” translated by Laura Solomon & the author; “Rain Above the Olive Trees” Translated by Erica Johnson Debeljak, and “Indefinite Time of Life” translated by Maruša Vidic & Anthony McCann.
