The Central Coasts favourite farmers market NSW Farmers Market Pty Ltd is the Company with 20 years experience in the promotion and development of farmers markets in NSW. So what exactly is a farmers market? And why should I support them?

At Gosford City Farmers Market you can support many local producers like Peter Annabel from Central Coast Raw Honey with over 30 years as a beekeeper. Ivan Rusev is the grower from Peats Ridge and is known as The Bloom Barn. This particular flower grower is unique in what they grow Kangaroo paw, eucalyptus, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, dahlias, sun flowers, chincherinchee’s and plenty more! Don’t expect the common place flowers from this flower grower. Jann and Peter Dixon-Hughes are duo behind Lincoln Red Beef and hail from Denman. They attend every Sunday with their home-bred, grass fed Lincoln Red Beef and seasonal lamb and Muscovy ducks. All cryovac sealed and aged. Beef and lamb available as cuts, mince and lean gluten- free sausages. They also sell beef pies and duck pies using only their product. The colour and bountiful produce is a sight to hold on Sunday mornings with their stall packed to the rafters. This is little of what you can find at Gosford Showground every Sunday. It is a haven for fresh tasty produce with a wide range of primary produce including free range eggs, dressed poultry, pork, bacon, jams, preserves, stuffed olives, macadamia nuts, as well as “food to eat” vendors. Farmers Markets are great for quality food products, good for the local economy, good for a sustainable environment, good for public well-being and good for tourism. Wrinkle preventing creams are generally rich in antioxidants to help your skin appear younger. However more often than not these products are quite costly rather than giving us wrinkle free skin! Antioxidants aren’t easily absorbed through the skin. The best way to give your skin the antioxidants it needs is to include them in your diet. Don’t forget to hydrate! - Maintaining hydration levels are key in achieving younger looking skin. Current recommendations for adults are 8-10 cups of fluid per day. Our bodies compose of up to 80% water. When you are dehydrated, your skin is often first to take a hit. Dehydrated skin appears dry, wrinkled and tired. Maintaining hydration levels ensures your skin looks plump, bright and healthy. Vitamin C - is extremely important in skin health. It is the most abundant antioxidant found in the skin helping to build and repair collagen. Collagen maintains skin elasticity resulting in a youthful appearance. Therefore ensuring you eat vitamin C rich foods can help to slow the ageing process. The best sources of vitamin C broccoli, sprouts, blackcurrants, guava, citrus fruits and kiwi fruit. Vitamin A - is most commonly viewed as the anti-aging vitamin. This is due to its ability to slow the breakdown of collagen within the skin. One form of the vitamin, Retinol, has been recognised by government authorities as an effective wrinkle prevention agent. Boost your intake of vitamin A by including carrots, sweet potatoes, mangoes and kale regularly in your diet. Vitamin E - is an important antioxidant as it helps prevent damage to cell membranes and associated enzymes. This function is particularly important in maintaining youthful looking skin. The best foods sources of vitamin E are from oils and fats including: meat, poultry and fish fats, vegetable oils, nuts, oats and dairy products.
