plications (none have occurred in the present data), are discussed, and finally follow-up examinations are reported (of 133 patients). 13 died after they had been discharged; 110 of the remaining results were satisfactory; 4 cases had a residual urine a f 40 ccm, and 6 results were unsatisfactory. 13 of the patients operated upon had suprapubic fistulas, 2 of these patients died; the others were satisfactory in every respect. Transurethral resection is a very valuable help in the treatment of hypertrophy of the prostate. When dealing with elderly and exhausted patients, resection is the only possible treatment.
