KEY POINTS: 1. Stadt Krems is a small winery belonging to the city of Krems located in Austria’s Kremstal region in the Danube River valley. It was established in 1452 to provide revenue for the hospital of Krems. With the appointment of current winemaker Fritz Miesbauer in 2003, the 500+ year-old city- owned winery was given new life by a young and dynamic winemaking team. 2. The new team rebuilt the terraces of their two Erste Lagen (classified vineyard sites): Wachtberg and Grillenparz and refurbished the cellar; sparing no expense to deliver high quality. 3. Certified Sustainable by Lacon and a member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingütter [4] .

KEY POINTS: 1. Steinig is the brainchild of Fritz Miesbauer, whose aim is to deliver a straight-forward Grüner Veltliner from Lower Austria for the international market. 2.
