Neonatal Couplet Care Suites In The Family Birthplace Our Neonatal Couplet Care Suites allow mothers to room with their newborns if they are born prematurely or require specialized care. If you are staying in one of our Neonatal Couplet Care Suites, we want you and your newborn to feel comfortable and safe during your stay. You and your support person are encouraged to stay with your baby during his or her stay. Your involvement in your baby’s care is vital. All parents and visitors must sign in at the security desk and be prepared to show identification. Proper handwashing is required upon entering a couplet care room in order to prevent illness in newborns. All parents and visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of illness and should stay home if they are not feeling well. Visitors may return once they are symptom-free for 48 hours. If you or your support person are ill, please talk to the bedside nurse to develop a plan based on your symptoms. It is the responsibility of the parents to notify the staff of recent illnesses within the family. For safety reasons, visitors may only visit the newborn if at least one parent is present during regular visiting hours unless other arrangements are made. To keep your baby safe from infection, no children younger than 16 are allowed in the Neonatal Couplet Care Unit unless he or she is a sibling of the baby.
Blessed Beginnings Tree Commemorate your baby’s arrival and share your pride and joy by purchasing an inscribed leaf on our Blessed Beginnings Tree. Located on the wall outside of The Family Birthplace, the tree is a unique way to support our tiniest patients. Every Blessed Beginnings leaf supports the expansion of family and children’s services offered at Carroll Hospital. Each leaf is engraved with the name and birth date of your child, grandchild or newborn loved one.
To order your Blessed Beginnings Tree Leaf, call the Carroll Hospital Foundation at 410-871-6200 or visit CarrollHospitalCenter.org/blessed-beginnings.
