* The language spoken in Minicoy island of Lakshadweep is Mahaul/M'hal. It is a fully developed language with its own script and is taught in the schools of Minicoy. The script is written from right to left. It is not like the Arabic script. It is only in Minicoy island that this language is spoken and written. Perhaps the language has affinities with the Maldivian script and language.
