JANMAKUNDALI The birth chart positions, the navagraha, the nine planets, plus Rahu and Ketu at the time of birth. The chart has 12 positions for the 12 months of the year. The diamond within the square, which represents the earth, is formed by two triangles. The one pointing upwards represents man and the other pointing downwards stands for woman. The lines marking the three outer squares symbolise the three gunas, the three tendencies, Sattwa (ascending), Rajas (circular movement) and Tamas (descending).
