AMARO DELL’ETNA ITALY Amaro dell’Etna has its roots on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, where more than 26 herbs and aromatic plants used to craft this spectacular digestif grow. The 100% natural special recipe embodies the volcanic nature of Sicilian soil and, even after more than one hundred years, still conveys its traditional, authentic taste. Boomsma Beerenburger 60PF / 750ML First produced about 125 years ago. An 11-herb tincture similar to Cloosterbitter but the botanicals are different. Full-bodied herbal bitter made by adding herbs to genever with notes of coriander, licorice, gentian, juniper berry and laurel. Has a smooth, yet bitter, finish. It is bracing neat, chilled and on the rocks—also a perfect bitter component in a whiskey-based cocktail. Producer Giovanni Bosca uses estate wine as the base for his Amari. After infusing the wine and other botanicals with cardoon and Blessed Thistle, the distillate rests in new oak for at least six months. 34 proof, low for typical Amari, and less bitter than many with a smooth, nutty, candied winter spice quality to it. Cardamaro is one of the most unique and interesting Amari available. An absolutely fantastic price for a high quality, delicious Amari and a perfect gateway into the world of Italian bitters. 34PF 91pts Best Buy Wine Enthusiast COCCHI TORINO, ITALY Since 1978, Giulio Cocchi is owned and operated by the Bava Family. Unrivalled in its palate effect, it makes for a perfect finish to a meal. 32PF Cappelletti Pasubio Vino Amaro 581643 / 750ML / $18.33 Pasubio was one of the first amaro recipes created by Guiseppe Cappelletti at the beginning of the 20th century. The deep favors and lush texture are also the result of its preparation on a rich wine base. 34PF Cappelletti Vino Aperitivo 180972 / 750ML / $15.99 An artisanal wine-based aperitif made by the same family for over four generations.
