Odin Drive-In Theatre For more than 20 years, the Odin Drive- In Theatre in Innaloo proved popular with movie fans. It was located on Odin Road – between Orr Place and Amelia Street – and offered 500 bays when it opened on 31 December in 1964. The drive-in also featured a playground and a café. Massive arc lamps projected the latest movies from the operations box onto a towering screen that measured 63ft (19.2m) tall and 90ft (27.4m) wide. To meet demand, the number of car bays increased to 677 in 1965. In 1979, the City Theatre/TVW group purchased the drive-in theatre and operated it for

nine years. Hoyts later took over City Theatre in 1988 and decided to close all six of its drive-in theatres around Perth. The Odin Drive-in Theatre hosted its last screening in July 1988 and the site was demolished later that month to make way for the residential housing you see today.
