To increase our understanding of the sacred texts, we’re going to plunge into the time, place and customs behind the texts. In the first few chapters of this book, we’ll learn about the land, climate, rivers and hills by making a hand-drawn map. We’ll also study a Bible history timeline showing the empires that governed the Middle East during ancient times. Building on this foundation, other chapters focus on how location and governments shaped the world of our Bible stories. You are invited to join us. This is a great time to tackle a new challenge.
