Roam through the“Town of a Hundred Monuments” Built in a hollow site, Sarlat is dominated by the imposing outline of Saint Sacerdos gothic cathedral, situated on the Place du Peyrou. Right beside, the Place de la Liberté A  , where numerous markets are held all year round, is the heart and soul of the town. There’s a viewfromthe esplanade, on theTownHall’s elegant arcades andSaint-Marie’s Church, tastefully converted into an indoor market. Around the famous GooseMarket Square B  , the Hotel de Vassal and Gisson Manor B  , form an admirable ensemble linked by a sturdy tower. Wander around the maze of quaint narrow streets from the Fountain Court C  , to the monumental Saint Claire’s Abbey, Rue des Consuls, and two of Sarlat’s most exquisite townhouses, Hotel Plamon and Hotel de Vienne.
