2015 Employee Opinion survey Focus I want to personally thank everyone for participating in the EOS. Our company participation rate of 92% is most appreciated and above the dealership average. I want to continue to work with you to make Wagner Equipment Co. better through this process. We have chosen Engagement as our 2015 company-wide EOS focus. In 2014, we had a favorable score of 81% in the Engagement Index which put our company 9th of 30 North America Dealerships. We chose Engagement as a focus this year from several case studies of CAT Dealerships that have shown the following results as the Engagement score improves:

n n Higher Employee Productivity n n Higher Customer Loyalty n n Higher Financial Performance

n n Lower OSHA Reportable Accidents n n Lower Rework n n Lower Voluntary Turnover

It is also our feeling that with high Engagement scores all other indices will benefit as well.

We are asking our leaders to work with you to build and carry out action plans to support this EOS focus. You may have already met with your manager or will be meeting soon to go over the EOS results. Please keep in mind that while Engagement is our company-wide focus for the year, your workgroup also has the opportunity to select other actionable areas that are important to you and your coworkers.

Thank you for being part of the Wagner team.

Eye and Face Protection

SAFETY.CAT.COM TM

Protecting the eyes and face from hazards is extremely important considering all of the organs and soft tissue in the area. For example, a projectile to the eye not only damages the eye, but potentially the ligaments and muscles that move it, and in some cases the brain. Furthermore, lacerations to the face can damage muscle tissue and leave life-long scars. Serious injuries can occur very quickly and it is important to choose the proper Personal Protective Equipment for the task. Always make sure PPE is properly rated for the job, fits properly, and doesn’t obstruct view.

Causes of Eye and Face injuries

n n Splashes from acids, cleaning solutions and other harmful liquid chemicals n n Flying debris, chips and dust from grinding and windy conditions n n Flying projectiles from objects colliding, falling or being dumped n n Loose straps, cords or banding that breaks or snaps under extreme tension n n Extreme heat and light from exposed flames, welding or torches

Types of Personal Protective Equipment

n n Safety goggles: Enclose the whole area around the eyes to help prevent debris when sanding or blowing dirt and debris n n Safety glasses and side shields: Provide some protection against airborne particles and projectiles and are made of impact resistant material n n Weld masks, dark shields and torch glasses can help protect the eyes and face from flash burns and over-exposure to light n n Grinding shields can help protect from grinding debris, flying projectiles and chemical splashes

Component Rebuild Center (CRC) Project Manager Announcement

We are excited to communicate that we are underway with the process of designing and constructing our Component Rebuild Center (CRC) in Aurora. We have progressed to a point where we need to fill the planned Project Manager position for the CRC. This position will not be backfilled after the completion of all of the job duties, processes and procedures and when the successful operation of the CRC is well underway.  Given all of the aspects of this role, we decided that it would be best if we filled this position from an internal candidate that has all of the qualifications to best achieve the needed successful results. I am pleased to announce that Dave Barta accepted this position and will leave his legacy at Wagner Equipment Co. in this position.

Catterpiilar’s “Across the Table” – What is it? How does it affect us?

However, in order to aquire that business, dealers must be safer, more efficient, and have engaged and talented employees who work together as One Professional Team. All of this is exactly what our Strategic plan is focused on.

”Across the Table” is a re-launch of a Caterpillar initia- tive first started in 1926, which set clear standards and expectations for Caterpillar dealers.

The current version has the same basic mission, though being a Caterpillar dealer today involves many more complexities.

How will ATT affect Wagner and how we run our business?

Across the Table will have profound effects, that will take time and be well-managed. We are already reviewing many areas of our business right now to become more efficient and in tune with today’s and tomorrow’s customers. Caterpillar will work with us to help us move through these changes, and our strategy governance team will make sure that the changes we make are supportive of our business, our customers and our employees. The changes coming our way can be challenging, but when properly managed and executed, will result in a better business and stronger future for all of us.

Yet, the same message holds true: Cat dealers need to do an excellent job of representing Caterpillar in the field, understanding and covering their territories, support- ing their customers, and delivering results. When this is achieved, the dealer wins, the customer wins and Cater- pillar wins. Today, through Across the Table, Caterpillar has the goal of increasing all dealers’ performance levels to claim more of the available business opportunity that is out there.

Does ATT replace Wagner’s Strategic Plan?

No – it works alongside it. The alignment is strong (see below).

How does ATT support Wagner’s Strategic Plan?

The overall goals of our Strategic Plan (improving Safety, Market Leadership, Employee Engagement, and Custom- er Loyalty) are closely tied to the main goals of Across the Table. Across the Table is primarily focused on helping dealers claim more of the available business opportunity in their territories in terms of machine sales and parts sales, estimated to be as much as $18B, worldwide.

New Investments in Technology = Higher Volume of Success

Once again Wagner Equipment Co. Fluids Lab has made significant investments in updating their instruments with the latest and greatest technology. This year’s investment includes two new auto samplers and four FTIR instruments, these instru- ments are used to test the levels of soot and oxidation in the oil. The new instruments purchased this year in addition to the new ICP’s purchased in February of 2013 are major contributors to our high volume success. With our continuous growth and customer demand for quick turn-around times it is very important that we continue to rein- vest into this new technology developed by Perkin Elmer. We are now capable of testing 200 samples per hour and our Lab totals often exceed 5000 samples a week. This makes us one of the busiest Labs in the country, with very competitive pricing at $14.75ea.

Ken Cobert Fluids Lab Manager

New Product Introduction

Many of Wagner Equipment Co.’s Machine Sales Rep- resentatives and Managers went to “Spring Training” at Tinaja Hills - Caterpillar’s Demonstration and Training Centers located in the Sonoran Desert, Green Valley, AZ. The sales reps. and managers had the opportunity to preview many Cat machines. This machine pictured is the new M320F Wheeled Excavator. Wagner is planning to have four of these machines in

the rental fleet for 2015. Our customers find the wheeled excavators to be great for cleaning ditches and excellent for material handling on highway jobs.

CATERPILLAR DIESELS WIN GOLD AT 1952 HELSINKI OLYMPICS

team. He chose five members of the Caterpillar Diesels (Frank McCabe, Ron Bontemps, Dan Pippen, Marc Freiberger and Howie Williams) and also chose two members of the Phillips 66 Oilers (Bob Kurland and Wayne Glasgow) out of respect to their rival team and the NIBL. Phog Allen, legendary basketball coach who is often referred to as the “Father of Basketball Coach- ing,” was the head coach of the University of Kansas and was chosen as assistant coach of the U.S. Olympic team and would report to Womble. In 1952, basketball appeared in only its third Olympics as a team sport and Helsinki was also the final Olympics not to be televised. In Helsinki, the U.S. basketball team was the only undefeated team after the first six games. The U.S. played Argentina in the first game of the final round, winning 85-76. The U.S. was matched in the finals against the Russian team. This was a monumental occasion as it was at the height of the Cold War and was also the first Olympics that Russia fielded a basket- ball team. The U.S. defeated the Russians 36-25, winning the gold medal.

Before the NBA came to prominence, there was the Cat- erpillar Diesels/Peoria Cats -- one of the most dominant teams in the National Industrial Basketball League (NIBL). Peoria was on top of the basketball world in the 1950s and these men, who built our yellow iron by day, were some of the world’s greatest basketball players by night. One of the most significant milestones in the team’s his- tory was when five members of the Diesels and Warren Womble, the Diesels’ head coach, won the right to rep- resent the United States of America in basketball at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. In 1952, the Caterpillar Diesels won the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) championship. By winning the AAU championship, the Diesels went on to compete in the Olympic basketball team playoffs at Madison Square Garden in New York City, N.Y. At the Olympic playoffs, the Caterpillar Diesels defeated the University of Kansas with the score of 62-60. As a result, Warren Womble was selected to be the head coach of the U.S. Olympic basketball team and could choose seven members to comprise the U.S. Olympic
