ANNUAL REPORT 2018-19

Santa for the Kids After twenty-seven years, we managed to have another successful Christmas. Shopping was divided amongst the office staff this year, which made it less difficult to navigate. We had 17 families requesting help, a total of 43 children. The Community in total donated over $2500 in case as well as new toys, clothes and books for our program. Local businesses and organizations donated, individuals dropped by with donations and customers donated at Future Foods. Steve Berry, owner of Future Foods, spearheaded the requests and collection of corporate sponsors along with this customer donation. Julia Bernard encouraged staff at the new Hannaford to pick a gender and age to “adopt” and purchase a gift for their employee tree. Those donations from Hannaford took care of two complete families. We tried to grant as of the children’s requests as possible. They were also given mitten/gloves and hats. The families that came to retrieve gifts expressed their extreme gratitude. The gifts were wrapped thanks to Julie Ward and Michelle Emery, who will be taking over the program ongoing. I could never have completed everything without their assistance. Those wishing to make donations for next year can drop new, unwrapped toys, clothing, bedding, gift cards, or check/cash at the Town Office at any time throughout the year. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
