down. Jan and Chris Tighe once again won a bottle of wine for best costume, as they were dressed as “ghoulish court jesters”. Ethel and Judy’s table had fun coordinating their matching attire. They dressed the theme from the TV show “Sons of Anarchy” and came in second. The evening was enjoyed by all!! Many thanks to the staff at catering and to Chef Bernd who was creative in planning the menu. The buffet included Halloween selections such as Frankenstein Caesar Salad, Marinated Zucchini Zombies, Spider Web Pumpkin Salad, Road Kill Chicken Breast, Witch Craft Vegetables, Mummified Lamb Racks, Tombstone Brownies, Spider Web Cake with Ghoul Whip and lots of scary treats to name just a few. Ethel and Judy have planned a very full and entertaining season. “The focus of the committee is to find things that will appeal to everyone whether it be a dance, variety show, or comedy. The Performer Series is at the Main Club with dinner and stadium seating while Cabaret night is at The Beach Club and is designed for small tables of 4 or 6. We are excited that Beattlemania will be performing for Valentine’s Day, so,” save the date”, says Ethel.

Lobster Night at the Beach Club October 22, 2014

One hundred thirty four members including 8 walk-ins, attended “The Lobster Fest” at the Beach Club. The dinner included a salad bar with lobster bisque with diced lobster, oysters, shrimp, sashimi, plus a variety of salads. There was a lobster station, and our chefs were busy cracking away. Chef Ernesto said “195 lobsters were steamed, cracked, and served that night”. For those who don’t like lobster, salmon was prepared as well as prime rib. There was something for everyone, and of course, there was a Dessert Bar Buffet as well. Reservations are requested at the Beach Club, but especially on a special evening. “This assures the best service and quality ” Chef Ernesto related.“ As soon as you know you are coming, please make your reservations, so we can plan and order fresh fish,” Cindy, Beach Club General Manager, strongly suggests. Most members were very pleased and satisfied with Lobster Night. Here are some of their reactions. Eleanor Newman “ a great job, plenty to eat even if you don’t eat lobster, the lobsters were plentiful and the service was great.” Dee Topol , “The chef achieved point of perfection, steaming the lobsters.” Robin Goodfriend- “The Lobsters were tender and succulent” Cindy is looking forward to another lobster buffet in the future. This is a wonderful night to bring guests”.
