Ladies golf at Frenchman’s Creek, otherwise known as FCLGA, officially kicked off its 2014-2015 season on Tues- day, November 04, 2014. About 165 women participated in the ABCD teams, playing a step-aside scramble, using both of our beautiful courses. With a little bit of cloud cover and gusty winds, we were able to enjoy a lovely, warm (but not hot) day, as we played our nine holes of golf. Then we adjourned to the main clubhouse for appetizers and shopping for golf, tennis and fitness apparel, before we entered the dining room, carrying out the theme of “ Fall Into Golf,” with tablecloths, napkins and balloons in all the fall colors. Our lunch was a delicious platter of a variety of sampler of delicacies, including seafood, quiche, salad, chicken salad and a few more choices that all could enjoy. The dessert was of course, the delicious Graeter’s Raspberry chocolate chip ice cream enhanced with fresh berries. After speeches by our chairperson Toni Smith, and Carol Smith, tournament chair, Rich Lucchini revealed the win- ners of the tournament and had the professional golf staff give us our opening day gift of a “ Scrambled Pic Golf Ball Pick Up”, which can be used on the green after holing the ball, or picking up the ball while playing a scramble! Thanks to Dede Levinson and Robyn Rosenblatt, co-chairs of the opening luncheon, to our professional golf staff and to Stacy Collins, Tikki Streud and Tiffany DeSousa for our shopping extravaganza.
