Gifts and Souvenirs The most interesting among the gifts and souvenirs that you can take home to remind you of your visit to Ljubljana and Central Slovenia are those connected to the tradition of local arts and crafts. Among the typical Slovenian products are Idrijan lace , Rogaška glass , the painted frontal boards of beehives, skilfully painted and decorated Easter eggs , gingerbread and gingerbread hearts , wooden ware from Ribnica and more. Some ideas for culinary souvenirs are presented on page 39 .

Art Market and Antique FleaMarket During the warmer months there is an Art Market going on every Saturday along a part of the Ljubljanica riverside where you can buy beautiful and original paintings, jewellery or ceramics. Every Sunday there is an Antique Flea Market where you can admire interesting objects with historical significance of value to collectors.

Arts and crafts The city centre features many galleries offering artistic paintings and graphics and you can find different Slovenian local arts and crafts products in various outlets – from folk motifs and typical Slovenian products of practical household use, e.g. potica baking moulds (called potičnice), to high quality decorative products.

A more detailed list of specialized shops is quoted on www.visitljubljana.com (Things to do – Shopping), where you can also search ideas for shopping according to categories of products.
