601 Mobile Device Policy

Employees are prohibited from conducting personal transactions on Company-owned mobile devices including, but not limited to: Personal banking, on-line shopping, dating websites, social networking, gaming websites, sports, personal travel arrangements, etc. Company-provided Mobile Devices may not be loaned to, or used by, others. The safety of ITU AbsorbTech’s employees is critical to our ongoing success. Therefore, employees are prohibited from using a Company-issued Mobile Device while operating any motor vehicle unless utilizing a hands-free device. Hands-free voice calling is the only permissible method for initiating outgoing calls. When manually dialing a number, employees are required to pull over to the side of the road for safety. Further, if state or local laws are more restrictive, the employee must follow the appropriate law Any other Mobile Device enabled activity that prevents an employee from focusing on driving such as internet searches, reading or sending text messaging and/or email, use of any software applications, or other distracting activities is prohibited. If so equipped, the camera in a Mobile Device is an excellent tool for many business related uses, including accident or incident reporting and documentation. Mobile Devices may not be used in any restroom or locker room. The use of a Company-provided Mobile Device to respond to incoming personal emergencies is permitted, but should be limited. IRS regulations require that the

ITU AbsorbTech provides certain employees with Mobile Device(s) and/or telecom carrier services for the primary purpose of conducting Company business. All provided devices, accessories and data are the property of the Company and the employee is responsible for the appropriate use and safe keeping of the device(s) as outlined in this policy. Mobile Devices owned by the Company and used to conduct business must be used appropriately, responsibly, and ethically. Employees who are assigned a Company- provided Mobile Device and Accessories are required to sign an Electronic Tools Receipt. This includes identification of the specific unit and specifies the amount that is charged to the employee if the unit is lost or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, as allowed by state law. Text Messaging or Short Message Service (SMS) is provided in all Company provided data packages, but texting should be limited. The use of group messaging software outside of data plan costs is acceptable providing the software is authorized by the Company. Text Messaging is not an appropriate medium for communicating with customers regarding account activity or status. Employees are prohibited from using Company-owned Mobile Devices for the purpose of illegal transactions, harassment, or obscene behavior, or in violation of any other existing employee policies.
