USD POSTSEASON RUNS 1992-93 NCAA Tournament Team In the 1992-93 women's basketball season, the Toreros made their inaugural run into the NCAA Tournament. The Toreros posted a 16-12 overall record and a8-6 record in the West Coast Conference, good for a second place finish. The Toreros opened the season with three straight losses, but bounced back winning nine of their next 11 games including aseason long six-game winning streak. USD would open conference play with three straight wins against Saint Mary's, San Francisco and Portland which caught the attention of the conference. USD wou ld not suffer a losing streak for the remainder of the season to finish in second place behind Santa Clara, to whom the Toreros dropped two games to during the regular season. USDwould then run the table in the WCC Tournament and pull off ahuge upset against heavily favored Santa Clara defeating the Broncos 64-57 to earn their first trip to the "Big Dance''. USD would fall in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to the Cornhuskers of the University of Nebraska 81-58.

1999-2000 NCAA Tournament Team In the 1999-2000 season the Toreros experienced one of the programs best sea– sons in USD history. The Toreros finished the season with a 17-13 overall record, matching a USD record for most wins in a season, and posted a 7-7 record in West Coast Conference play earning them afourth seed in the WCC Tournament. The Toreros opened the tournament with a hard fought 65-62 win against Loyola Marymount in the first round, then upset No.3 seed and host Santa Clara 61 -56. Next stop for USD was the championship round with top-seeded Pepperdine. With the score knotted at 45-45 and nine minutes remaining, USD put together a 15-2 run to pull ahead. Pepperdine would come back to pull within three, but could come no closer lifting the Toreros into their second NCAA Tournament appearance. The 15th-seeded Toreros would fall in the first round to the No. 2 seed University of Notre Dame by a final of 87-61 .

2006-07 WNIT Team

Inthe 2006-07 season, the University of San Diego witnessed arguablythe greatest .di season in women's basketball history, as the team recorded the program's first 20-win season, under second-year head coach Cindy Fisher. The team had a 12- game improvement from the previous season and finished with aprogram-best 21-9record and a10-4 mark in the WCC. USD began the season in stylish fashion, H-"'""r"'""'' ripping off seven consecutive wins to post the best seven-game start in program history. USD continued to roll as they entered WCC action with a 11-3 record. USD then steam rolled through the first six game of conference action, before suffering their first WCC loss to Gonzaga. USD wou ld then earn the No.2 seed in the WCC Tournament,after placing second in conference, the highest place finish in program history. After suffering a first-round loss in the WCC, USD learned of its inaugural berth into the WNIT. USD hosted the first round game against UC Santa Barbara, but fell to the Gauchos ending the record-setting season.
