SOLICITORS' GOLFING SOCIETY. The Summer Meeting was held at Royal Dublin on the 28th May and, although the entry was smaller than usual on account of the difficulties of transport, was greatly enjoyed by those who took part. The Society's Challenge Cup and the Prize presented by the Captain to the Winner was won by J. Desmond Kearns. The prize for the runner-up was won by W. J. Menton. The prize for the best gross was won by W. J. O'Reilly. The Veteran's Cup was won by W. J. Norman. The Competition was followed by a Dinner in the Club House at which the Captain, G. E. Grove White, presided. Amongst those present were : The President of the Law Society, Major Foster, President, and J. J. Hickey, Captain of Royal Dublin, both of whom spoke and expressed their pleasure at having Members of the Solicitors Profession as Visitors to their Club. The Committee are considering whether it will be possible to have future meetings during the emergency as the Society cannot afford this expense when the entries are so small. Any Member who did not receive a circular of the last Meeting should communicate with the Hon. Secretary, J. D. Rooney, Solicitor, Bank of Ireland, College Green, Dublin. DRAFT SOLICITORS' BILL. The Joint-Committee appointed to consider suggestions for the draught Bill has almost completed its work. The Council has provis ionally appointed October 1st as the date for the adjourned Special General Meeting of the Society. It is hoped to get out the notices conven ing the meeting together with a copy of the report of the Joint Committee to all members early in September.

The following candidates will be required to sit for another examination in Book keeping but will be exempt from any further examination in Theory or Practice :— Michael P. O'B. Kelly. Leslie S.
