The Secretary read the Notice convening the Meeting, also the Minutes of the General Meeting of 15th May 1942, which were signed by the Chairman. The Secretary also read the Minutes of the Special Private General Meeting which was held upon the 1st October 1942, which were signed by the Chairman. The Chairman, with the consent of the meeting, signed the Audited Accounts of the Society for the year ending 30th April 1942. The Secretary read the Report of the Scrutineers of the Ballot for Council, which stated that the following had been re turned unopposed as Provincial Delegates :— Ulster, John Gillespie; Munster, A. J. Blood-Smyth; I.einster, W. L. Duggan ; Connaught, C. E. Callan and that for the thirty-one Ordinary Members of the Council the following had been elected and received the number of votes placed after their respective names :— Arthur Cox E. F. Collins J. The words in brackets are no longer a correct statement of the law in England since the above-mentioned decision, which it is submitted would be followed by the Irish Courts. A firm of Solicitors having delivered to a client a Bill of Costs for a gross sum, subsequently at the client's request, as they were obliged to do, de livered an itemised Bill. This Bill taxed to an amount greater than the gross sum and it was held by the Court of Appeal that the Solicitors were entitled to recover from the client the full amount of the detailed Bill as taxed.
