Statutory Committee. A letter was read from the Hon. the Chief Justice appointing the following members of the Council to be the Statutory Committee for the year ending 26th November, 1942 : Mr. E. F. Collins, Mr. M. E. Knight, Mr. James J. Lynch, Mr. Henry P. Mayne, Mr. Peter O'Connor, Mr. G. A. Overend and Mr. Jasper Travers Wolfe. Solicitors' Bill, 1940, Committee. The following were elected to be the Solicitors' Bill Committee : The President, The two Vice-Presidents, The ex-President, Messrs. Mayne, Boyd, Burne, O hlladhaigh, O'Reilly, Stapleton, Cox and Norman. COMMITTEES OF THE COUNCIL. Committees of the Council for the year were appointed. OBITUARY. MR. WILLIAM J. MCCLENAGHAN, Solicitor, died on 14th December, 1941, at his residence, 6 Duncairn Terrace, Bray, Co. Wicklow. Mr. McClenaghan served his apprenticeship to the late Mr. Michael L. Horan, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1892, and prac– tised at 119 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin. MR. C. RUPERT ROBINSON, Solicitor, died on 21st December, 1941, in Dublin. Mr. Robinson served his apprenticeship to Mr. Plunkett Kenney, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1904, and practised at 10 Nassau Street, Dublin. MR. EDWARD LEAHY, Solicitor, died on 31st December, 1941, in Limerick. Mr. Leahy served his apprenticeship to the late Mr. William Leahy, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1901, and practised at Limerick.

SOLICITORS' ANNUAL CERTIFICATES. Members are reminded that Annual Certifi– cates for the year ending the 5th day of January, 1943, should be taken out and the duties paid thereon before the 6th day of February, 1942. Members are recommended to keep in safe custody their Certificates when stamped, so that the Certificates will be ready for pro– duction when required, and Dublin Agents of country solicitors should communicate with their correspondents as to the taking out of Certificates and likewise country Solicitors should communicate with their Dublin Agents on the subject. Election of President and Vice-Presidents. The Council elected Mr. G. Acheson Overend to be President of the Society and Mr. John J. Dunne and Mr. John J. Dundon to be Vice-Presidents for the ensuing twelve months. llth December. Twenty members present. The following names were submitted by the Southern Law Association to be extra- Ordinary Members of the Council: John J. Stanton (President), Edward E. Emerson, Frederick H. Hall, John J. Morgan and Barry M. O'Meara ; and the following names were submitted by the Incorporated Law Society of Northern Ireland to be extra- Ordinary Members of the Council: John Archer (President), Geo. Murnaghan, James C. Taylor, Charles Thorn and Robert Watts. MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL. 4th December. Twenty-three members present.
