The entire draft Bill was discussed in detail and was considerably amended. Most of the amendments were carried unanimously and it was decided that the Bill with the amendments should be sent to Counsel to settle.

OBITUARY. MR. J. CECIL B. O'DowD, Solicitor, died on 4th January, 1942, at his residence, 6 Victoria Avenue, Donnybrook, Dublin. Mr. O'Dowd was admitted a Solicitor in Easter Sittings, 1894, and practised in Dublin up to 1897 when he ceased to practise on his own account. MR. EDWARD PHELAX, Solicitor, died on 10th January, 1942, at his residence, Mont Clare Hotel, Clare Street, Dublin. Mr. Phelan served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. John H. Callan, Dundalk, was admitted a Solicitor in Michaelmas Sittings, 1905, and practised as senior partner in the firm of Phelan & Co. at Dundalk and Carrick- macross. MR. PATRICK O'CONNOR, Solicitor, died on 12th January, 1942, at Swinford, Co. Mayo. Mr. O'Connor served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Henry B. Fitzgerald, Dublin, was admitted a Solicitor in Michael– mas Sittings, 1900, and practised at Swinford. Mr. O'Connor was Coroner for East Mavo.

MR. ATWELL H. ALLEX, died on 14th January, 1942, at his residence, " Merville," Cobh. Mr. Alien was admitted a Solicitor in Trinity Term, 1877, and practised at Cobh up to the year 1938 when he retired.
