Facts The of Life

To begin The Bible teaches that man has two lives. They are the PHYSICAL life and the SPIRITUAL life. Everyone has a desire to know the facts about the PHYSICAL life. Likewise, there is within man a basic desire to know the facts about the SPIRITUAL life. Before you can go to heaven you must realize the following facts....

1. Because of what we are (We are sinners.) The Bible teaches there are two reasons why we need a Savior. WE MUST REALIZE WE NEED A SAVIOR. Fact 1 : (Until man understands he needs a personal Savior, he will never commit his life to Jesus.)

ROMANS 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

(Sin is living independently from God. Sin is breaking God’s commandments. Lying, cheating, stealing, lust, hatred, greed, and pride are examples of sin.)

JAMES 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

(One sin is enough to condemn us.)

2. Because of the results of our sin (Eternity in hell)

ROMANS 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

(If a man dies without being saved from his sin, he (himself) will have to pay the wages for his sin. The death referred to here is not physical death, but the second death — hell and the lake of fire.)

REVELATION 20: 14-15 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

WE MUST REALIZE WE CANNOT SAVE OURSELVES. Fact 2 : EPHESIANS 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

(Man is continually trying to reach God through good works, church membership, baptism, sacraments, etc.)

SINFUL MAN

SIN

No matter how hard man tries to reach God, he cannot do it himself. We are sinners, and our SIN separates us from God. It takes someone who is perfect, without sin, and completely righteous to save us, because we are sinners.

WE MUST REALIZE JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE US. Fact 3 : JOHN 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

(Man is united with God ONLY through the PERFECT blood of Jesus.)

SINFUL MAN

HOLY GOD

The Bible teaches that God required a blood sacrifice of a PERFECT man BEFORE man’s sin could EVER be paid for. Jesus came to the earth and lived that PERFECT life. This made Jesus the ONLY one ELIGIBLE to die upon the cross and shed the PERFECT blood to pay for man’s SIN. He took our sins upon Himself and was crucified, taking our penalty. Then He was buried. Three days later He was raised from the dead by the Father, thus proving that His

sacrifice for us as the Lamb of God had been accepted. For forty days He showed Himself alive to many people by many infallible proofs. Then He ascended bodily into heaven where He was crowned the Lord of all, and given a name above every other name. From His throne in heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to inhabit the lives of those who truly give themselves to Him. And today, when any person repents and truly trusts the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit of God literally comes to inhabit him. That person becomes “the dwelling place of God.” Alive by His Life! ROMANS 5:8-10 “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified through His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”

JESUS BECOMES OUR SAVIOR WHEN WE LET HIM BECOME OUR LORD.

ROMANS 10:9-10 “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” God gives us the gift of eternal life when we acknowledge and receive Christ as LORD. A LORD is a master, ruler or king. There must be a time when we COMMIT our lives to Jesus as our LORD. We must repent of our independence from God, our sinful self life, and surrender by faith to Jesus as our Lord and Master. It is not enough to know these four FACTS or even to believe them because...

THERE MUST BE A TIME WHEN WE RECEIVE CHRIST. Final Fact : JOHN 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” (Christ MUST come INTO us to ever SAVE us. He becomes our life.)

WE RECEIVE JESUS BY PRAYING AND INVITING HIM INTO OUR HEARTS.

REVELATION 3:20 (Christ is speaking) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: If any man will hear my voice, and open the door, I WILL COME IN TO HIM…”

ROMANS 10:13 “ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Is there any good reason why you wouldn’t RECEIVE Christ right now?

WHAT TO PRAY AS YOU RECEIVE CHRIST: Pray in your own words and ask Jesus to come into your life. Ask for His forgiveness for your sins and surrender completely to Him. Christ knows your heart and is more concerned with the attitude of your heart than with your words. If you do not know WHAT to pray, then pray this prayer from your heart. “Oh Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sin. Please forgive me of all my sin and change me. I know I cannot save myself, but I know you can save me. I want to know You! I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and was raised from the dead. So right now, please come into me, and be my LORD. I give you the throne of my life. I turn over the control of my being into Your hands from this day forward. For the rest of my life, I choose to worship and love You. Thank You for Your promise to save me, and to give me Your eternal life. Right here — right now, I put my trust in You. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.”

HOW TO KNOW CHRIST IS NOW IN YOUR LIFE: Christ said He would come into our lives if we genuinely asked Him. He cannot lie, and He will not break His promise. His Word says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you SHALL BE SAVED.” It is Christ who does all the saving! He will give us a new birth as a child of God. We are saved by GRACE through FAITH. We are not saved by our feelings or reason, but by FAITH in GOD’S WORD and what He says He will do. He promises that He will make all things new. Eternal life is when Jesus comes to live His Life in you. John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life...” 1 John 5:12-13 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life ...”

Added Facts : ABOUT YOUR NEW CHRISTIAN LIFE ONCE YOU ARE S-A-V-E-D S — Salvation is not the END of the Christian Life, but only the beginning. (1 Peter 2:2) A — Acknowledge your salvation before others and the church. (Matthew 10:32) V — Visible testimony of your salvation by baptism. (Romans 6:1-6) E — Express your love for Jesus by keeping His commandments and following Him. (John 14:15) D — Daily fellowship with Him, prayer, Bible study, and becoming a part of a Bible-believing church are essential for continued Christian growth. (ll Timothy 2:15)

Eternal life becomes a reality to us as the Lord Jesus Christ Himself comes to live His life within us, by His Spirit. We become “His house” and a member of His body of believers who live all around the world.
