Lace-up Those Skates Surrey’s arenas are the place to learn to skate, play hockey, figure skate or just have fun at one of our family skating events. We host recreational hockey leagues for ages 6 years right up to adult.

CSA CERTIFIED HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR ICE SKATING LESSONS

All city of Surrey Learn to Skate and Hockey program participants are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet or snowboard helmet. This includes Boots to Blades participants and parents. Helmets are mandatory for all children 12 and under during public sessions. All participants 13 years and older are strongly recommended to wear a CSA helmet while on the ice during public sessions.

Contains one sheet of ice, score board with flexible scoring and timing capabilities, bench seating for 250, four multi-use dressing rooms, one meeting room, food services, skate and helmet rental, skate sharpening and 15,000 square feet of exhibit space. Wheelchair accessible on ground level.

Public Skating All Ages Great music and fun on ice activities. Come as a family and get the Family rate (per person) Family Skating All Ages Time for fun with the whole family along with other families in a positive surrounding. Family is defined by a supervising family member such as a parent, grandparent or guardian accompanied by children. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your family and get some exercise while having fun. Skating – Parent Participation Children 0-5yrs Enjoy some time on the ice with your child. This is a shared space event with lessons happening at the same time. Parents/guardians must be on the ice. Skate and helmet rentals available. Skating – Adult 19yrs+ Enjoy some time on the ice during this adult-only skating time. Skate and helmet rentals available. All skill levels welcome. Figure Skating – Adult 19yrs+ Practice your moves during this time dedicated to figure skating. Participants must share music time and space. All skill levels welcome. Stick & Puck - Child  0-12yrs Children 12 and under (wearing full gear) can practice their hockey or ringette skills during this drop-in, non-instructional time. Parents or guardians are not required to be on the ice, but are welcomed to participate. Limited to 26 players. Check in required no later than 10 minutes before start time to maintain reserved spots.

Stick & Puck  All Ages Come and practice your hockey or ringette skills during this non-instructional time. Full gear required for children and youth. Helmet, gloves and skates required for adults. Check in required no later than 10 minutes before start time to maintain reserved spots. Players 12 and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult. Recreational Hockey – Youth  13-18yrs Come out and play a fun recreational game of hockey with your friends! Full hockey gear is required (including neck guard and face mask), this program is non-contact. Space is limited to 20 players and 2 goalies, Student ID must be presented upon arrival. Teams will be divided and supervised by an on-ice staff. Recreational Hockey – Adult  19yrs+ Come and participate as a goalie/player in a recreational, non-contact hockey game. Full hockey gear required. All skill levels welcome. Check in required no later than 10 minutes before start time to maintain reserved spots. Recreational Hockey – 55+  55yrs+ Come and participate as a goalie/player in a recreational, non-contact hockey game. Full hockey gear required. All skill levels welcome. Check in required no later than 10 minutes before start time to maintain reserved spots.

NEWTON ARENA 604-501-5044  7120 136B Street

Contains one sheet of ice, bench seating for 150, score board with flexible scoring and timing capabilities, one meeting room, two multipurpose rooms, four multi-use dressing rooms, skate and helmet rental and skate sharpening. 17,000 square feet of exhibit space. Wheelchair accessible on ground level.

NORTH SURREY RECREATION CENTRE 604-502-6300  10275 City Parkway

Contains two sheets of ice, bench seating for spectators, score board with flexible scoring and timing capabilities, multi-use dressing rooms, four multipurpose rooms, skate and helmet rental, skate sharpening and food services. 16,000 (arena one) and 17,000 square feet (arena two) of exhibit space. Wheelchair accessible on both levels.

SOUTH SURREY ARENA 604-502-6200  2199 148 Street

Contains Olympic sized rink, score board with flexible scoring and timing capabilities, 1,242 fixed seating, 20,000 square feet of exhibit space, one multipurpose room, multi-use dressing rooms, skate shop, wheelchair accessible on both levels. SURREY SPORT AND LEISURE COMPLEX 604-501-5881  16555 Fraser Hwy Contains three sheets of ice, three multipurpose rooms, skate and helmet rental, skate sharpening. Wheelchair accessible on ground level.

Check the drop-in schedules for seasonal openings. Not all arenas have ice year round.
