CITY OF SURREY Supporting Healthy Active Aging The City of Surrey is leading the way in supporting healthy active aging through its Age Friendly Strategy for Seniors, a framework that ensures seniors, families and caregivers are supported through advocacy, policy, partnering and services delivery. Through successful collaborations with partners and organizations the City of Surrey offers educational opportunities to gain further knowledge and resources that will support seniors, caregivers and families with the tools to remain healthy, active, independent and engaged in the community. We welcome you to attend one, or all of the events that focus on safety, health and wellness, transportation and mobility, housing and buildings and outdoor spaces. Nooner at the Nat Come out and cheer on the Vancouver Canadians as they take on the Hillsboro Hops. Enjoy some of the delicious food and if you’re up for the challenge try the three foot long hot dog (yard dog). Trip includes transportation, and game admission. Food is not included. Outside food or drinks are not permitted at the stadium. Indulge in over 300 treats at the old British sweetshop and learn about the history of Kings, Queens, Charles Dickens and more. Take a look at the new titanic room, and re-live the 1986 Expo in the Expo room. Next, enjoy a delicious lunch in the Oliver Tea Room complete with tea, scones and soup. Trip includes lunch. Also, enjoy lunch at a popular restaurant with great views before heading off for free time to explore the galleries and shops. Trip includes ferry fees and lunch. Next, take in the picturesque drive including views of Stawamus Chief, Howe Sound and surrounding Coastal Mountains, Murrin Park and of course our most-impressive Gulf Islands. Senior Service Connector Program The Senior Service Connector Program provides trained staff/volunteers who are able to connect seniors and their families to information about programs and services available to them in their community.
