Port funds local communities The port has donated more than £600,000 to local communities through supPORT all since it was established in 2014. The Port of Aberdeen said: "The cost of-living crisis is hitting those most in need the hardest. Local charities and community groups play a vital role in supporting people through these challenging times and the supPORT-all funding will aid this important work.... We look forward to partnering with a diverse range of groups this year and contributing to their crucial work in the community." Corporate STC Insiso lands problem solving company STC Insiso has secured £2mn from equity capital investor BGF to help it to roll out its Comet software platform faster, it said February 6. marine and utilities industries. Comet generates high quality input data to identify systemic risks. BGF said the company has "an impressive software product portfolio which has proven invaluable to professionals in a wide range of industry sectors." STC Insiso’s revenue for 2022 was £4mn and that figure is predicted to grow significantly over the next two to four years. The investment has already resulted in the creation of three new product development positions, and further recruitment will continue this year, the company said in its statement. Specialist oil and gas engineering firm, Quanta EPC is strengthening its presence in Aberdeen, it said January 31. It has opened a new office and appointed a regional director for Scotland, Scott Douglas. He has spent his entire working career in the sector and joins from Stork, where he was business development manager. "This is an exciting time for the energy sector with ever increasing focus on the UK’s energy security and the move to cleaner, greener power. Quanta is at the very heart of delivering this for the sector," he said. The company announced earlier in the month it had strengthened its engineering team with six new appointments following a clutch of new contract wins. Quanta CEO Nick Oates said: "This significant investment in new talent... will help contribute towards building strong energy security for the UK, as well as supporting the energy transition." French energy major TotalEnergies. He succeeded Andy Hessell, who retired at the end of January after 35 years in the energy industry and eight years with Kellas. Mr Morgan said: "Kellas has been critical to the development of the UK North Sea and is positioned to play an equally significant role in its future." Mr Hessell said he was leaving the company in a strong position, with three major gas transportation assets, and it was ready to face the future and the new energies it would bring such as hydrogen production. Kellas is owned by two long-term investors, BlackRock and GIC, who are "both deeply committed to the company’s continued growth." ECITB names Brown as interimCEO The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) has appointed Andy Brown as interim CEO, it said February 7. He has worked in engineering since 1982 and joined the ECITB in 2006, becoming its Director of Operations in 2013. Chris Claydon MBE announced his departure as ECITB’s CEO in November after seven years at the helm of the industry-led statutory skills body. Mr Brown’s focus will be delivering the ECITB Strategy 2023-2025 that was developed in partnership with industry, training providers and the UK, Scottish and Welsh governments, and launched last September. Revie takes the helm at ASCO Services Global logistics and materials management company ASCO has appointed Craig Revie head of its new Specialist Services unit, it said February 6. The company has merged several of its units, engaged in diverse activities such as lifting, freight management and training, to provide clients with a single, integrated
