We were all saddened to hear of the passing of URSC President Jack Kyle, a superb rugby player and a wonderful human being. Jack’s last formal outing for the URSC was to present the URSC Player of the Year award to Andrew Trimble in May this year. Jack even signed a specially commissioned cartoon – to the evident delight of Andrew who put it up on his twitter page. Jack also spent time that night talking to, and no doubt inspiring, last season’s Bursary winner Angelo Marica. Then, a couple of months ago, on hearing that the URSC was having a Meet the New Players event, Jack asked that his personal best wishes were passed on to the new players and their partners and he hoped that they would have an enjoyable and successful time at Ulster. Typical of the man... typical of the gentleman. It seems entirely appropriate therefore to announce that the 2014/15 URSC Jack Kyle Bursary winner is Alan O’Connor. Alan will receive a cheque for £2500!
