Tulare Dairy Princess Training Week is scheduled for Tuesday-Friday, July 9-12 in Turlock. The four- day training will provide the Dairy princesses with presentation and public speaking skills, as well as etiquette training, social media tips and an overview of industry issues. The CMAB staff provides publicity for all contests via press releases to local media and dairy producers about upcoming events and contest winners. Dairy Princess Activities – September through December 2018 The Dairy Princesses and Alternates, collectively, have attended the following events from September through December 2018. • School visits – 14 different schools, 36 classrooms reaching 715 students. Three School tours, two at a dairy and one at a High School Farm reaching 115 students. • Industry meetings – 17 meetings and an average of 63 people at each meeting. • Community events – 26 events; ranging from parades, community dinners, Farm Bureau events and county fairs. Education & Community Relations – 2018 Projects Education and Community Relations projects total for 2018 was $13,502.26. Below is the list of projects funded with Real California Milk dairy product donations for the year. District 4 – $847.61 Orland Swim Meet, Glenn County 4-H, Run for Food, Children's Movie Night, Lake School District 5 – $2,995.08 Ripon Christian High School Football team District 6 – $4,803.58 ($400 from District 11) Cal Poly Classic Sale, Los Banos Athletics and Community events, Stoneridge Fall Athletics and Golden Valley High School District 7 – $1,227.97 Western Classic, Hanford, Kings County UCP Rock and Roll milk donations, Hanford High School Athletics milk donation and Sierra Pacific High School boosters District 8 - $90.00 District 8 Dairy Princess contest District 9 – $1,149.75 Central Valley Christian Athletics District 10 – $1,929.60 Bakersfield Condors field trip milk donations
