The Journey of SLV Study…… ¾ Further, AOAC India took the assistance of Dr. Ashutosh Mittal and assigned him the task of being the project coordinator for the study, on behalf of AOAC India ¾ A draft SLV protocol was prepared and after various reviews and feedback, the protocol was finalized after the approval of the method author Dr. Joe Thompson, in the first week of March 2019 ¾ However, based on the comments of the meeting of the NUTRIENTS EXPERT REVIEW PANEL (ERP), at Gaithersburg on March 14, 2019, three further matrices were included as part of the study i.e. SPIFAN Adult Nutritional Powder Low Fat (00859RF00), SPIFAN Infant Formula Powder Milk Based (K16NTAV) and SPIFAN Infant Formula Powder Soy Based (E10NWZC). ¾ The SLV protocol was revised to include these three matrices and the protocol was revised and handed over to FSLS along with the SLV Data Form on May 5, 2019. ¾ In the meantime, samples for the study, NIST SRM 1849a along with the SPIFAN kit were also despatched to the third-party laboratory. The project was a bit delayed as the NIST SRM 1849a was held up at the Indian customs due to some recent regulatory changes.
