CCMAS endorsed AOAC 2015.06 / ISO 21424 | IDF 243 for the measurement of copper in edible casein products (considered close enough to milk powder, which was included in method validation) • Could lead to additional endorsement of SPIFAN methods for infant formula ingredients or other commodities on CXS CCMAS recommended that CCNFSDU: • Consider establishing numerical method performance criteria for Ca, Mg, P, K, Na, Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn, and identify appropriate methods that meet the criteria • CCMAS also noted the applicability of the re-typed methods should be considered either during the process of establishing numerical criteria or at CCMAS41 • Consider whether AOAC 2015.09 / ISO 21446 should replace the methods for determining Vitamin K in Follow Up Formula in CXS 234 (i.e., AOAC 999.15 / EN 14148) • CCMAS also noted the applicability of the re-typed methods should be considered either during the process of establishing numerical criteria or at CCMAS41 • CCMAS recognized SPIFAN Conference Room Document as a best practice for delegations submitting methods with validation data (based on intervention from Switzerland) • IAM Chair requested AOAC/ISO/IDF to create a template, which will be included in a CCMAS guidance document • CCMAS determined CRDs must be submitted at least 60 days prior to future meetings (will speed up SPIFAN process) • CCMAS will begin meeting in March starting in 2021 (further speeding up SPIFAN process) Recent Progress (CCMAS40, cont’d)
