NEW DAIRY PRINCESS CROWNED Amanda King of Petaluma Selected as District 3 Dairy Ambassador

TRACY, Calif. – April 10, 2019 – Amanda King of Petaluma was selected as the 2019 Dairy

Princess for the California Milk Advisory Board’s (CMAB) District 3. The crowning took place

before a crowd of approximately 400 dairy industry members and their families and friends, on

Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Petaluma.

Retiring Dairy Princess Jeanette Furlong turned the title over to Amanda and wished her success

as she represents the California dairy industry throughout the coming year.

Amanda will represent District 3, which includes Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano and

Sonoma counties. As Dairy Princess, she will play an important role on the CMAB’s

Communications Services team in meeting community relations objectives.

Amanda is the daughter of Arnold and Dina King of Petaluma. She is a senior at Petaluma High

School and plans to attend California State University, Chico in the fall and major in

agribusiness and agriculture communications and marketing. Amanda is an active member of

both Liberty 4-H and Petaluma FFA where she has shown dairy cattle and sheep and is a fourth-

generation dairy farmer and third generation sheep farmer.

First Alternate, Camilla Taylor, is the daughter of John and Karen Taylor of Point Reyes Station.

She is a senior at San Domenico School and plans to attend a four-year university in the fall of

2019 and get a bachelors degree in psychology with the ultimate career goal of working with
