• 2000-2011, 167 patients T1-3N0-3 oropharyngeal cancer • IMRT 46-Gy + 22-Gy BT boost.

2013

• 5-year local control: 94%, DFS: 84%, overall survival: 72%, • Feeding tubes in 26%. Grade ≥2 late xerostomia 11%. Dysphagia 8% • Quality of life (QOL) scores deteriorate during and after treatment but returned to baseline scores within 6-12 months, but xerostomia.

CONCLUSION: • Brachytherapy boost

after 46Gy of IMRT resulted in excellent outcomes with low incidence of late toxicity and good QOL scores
