INTRALUMINAL BRACHYTHERAPY IN ESOPHAGEAL CANCER

Early Disease: • Neoadjuvant chemoradiation + Surgery or mucosal resection • Alternative treatment: EBRT + brachytherapy

Locally advanced Disease: • Palliative (chemo-)radiation +/- BT • EBRT + BT

Advanced/metastasized or relapse with luminal obstruction: • Brachytherapy alone •

Aim: rapid and lasting relief of symptoms from dysphagia
