Paris system: basic principles

1. Linear activity is (LDR):

Reference linear air-kerma strength must be:

➢ Uniform along each line ➢ Identical for all the lines

2. Radioactive sources are:

➢ Parallel ➢ Straight ➢ Equidistant

NB: sources are equally separated but source separation varies from one implant to an other (  tumor volume)
