Next - Have students perform ​ SQ3R ​ on Meiosis I & II (pg 233 teaches edition) Next have students in groups of 8. Have them take off their shoes. There shoes will represent the chromosomes. Have them go through the steps of Meiosis I & II. Have students demonstrate the Cause & Effect of topics : Crossing Over, Law of Independent Assortment, Genetic Variation. Have students look at Figure 20 on pg 239. Hand out a noteguide of a karyotype and go through with them the different aspects of the organized picture of chromosomes.

Next have the revisit their prior knowledge of down syndrome. Show ​ Nondisjunction Video Karyotype Lab

Revisit CER to provide evidence.

Tie in their responses to the original phenomena and have the students build off this.
