Athenry News & Views Spring 2026

Spring 2026

Coldwood 4 Mile Run: Our annual run was a resounding success! The event has been running since 2013, huge credit to all who have seen it go from strength to strength in that time. The children’s races were a huge highlight & there was a fantastic turnout of walkers and runners for the adult 4 mile. The run returned a whopping €10,055 profit for the school. We are indebted to all our sponsors, volunteers, pupils, parents, staff and members of the local community who orchestrated the smooth running of the event to generate a fantastic financial return to the school.

Camogie Cups Visit: We were delighted to welcome past pupil Eva McGlynn, her teammates Therese Donohue and Laura Freeney and members of Athenry Camogie club on Friday January 9th. They were accompanied by the Bill & Agnes Carroll Cup following their triumph in the All-Ireland Senior Club final. They also brought the O’Duffy Cup won by the Galway Senior team, the U23 All-Ireland trophy and the Senior & Minor A county cups won by Athenry. There was great excitement in the school hall
