resourceful and regularly looks at ways to improve the value and customer service offered to visitors. Vicky always offers help when colleagues require it and often takes a leadership role in events organised within the School. As part of her role, Vicky proactively seeks sponsorship for the School of Oncology programme of events, as well as providing excellent hospitality service to speakers and sponsors when liaising with them as part of their event. Vicky is extremely hard working and a wonderful team member, she is extremely caring and provides an excellent level of service, always with a smile on her face. Her positive and enthusiastic demeanour have enabled her to build excellent relationships with delegates, facilitators and exhibitors attending study days and conferences. She embodies The Christie experience as a ‘wonderful and special place’ to work and visit. Vicky makes friends with everyone she meets, she is such a warm bubbly person, which makes her a wonderful colleague, team member and friend.

September 2018 Sarah Wood, clinical support worker in radiotherapy Sarah’s role is to support the radiographers on the machines in scheduling of patients’ treatments and appointment

times. The role also involves clinical tasks like phlebotomy, MEWS, and some skin dressing. Sarah has worked for the Trust for 10 years and has been in her current role since January 2018. Sarah has fantastic communication skills and this is reflected in the amount of thank you cards she receives from our patients. Her wide knowledge of the hospital gives Sarah that added bonus of being able to answer most patients’ questions, especially if they are anxious, and are not sure where they need to go next, reassuring them and putting both them and their families at ease. Sarah is both reliable and consistent in her everyday job role.
