WEBMASTER AND DIGITAL CONTENT COORDINATOR

Characteristics of Work:

This is a professional, full-time position within the Division of eLearning and Instructional Technology and reports to the Director of Instructional Technology. This position is charged with designing and coding engaging website(s), create web-based content and digital communications, and implement/follow style guides that further the mission of the Division and the MCCB.

The following examples are intended only as illustrations of the various tasks performed by the incumbent in this position. These examples are not meant to be exhaustive; they are representative of the general functions of this position.

1. Creation and/or maintenance of MCCB, MSVCC, and eLITE Institute web site and pages. 2. Determines site development scope, layout, navigation, visual style, and flow. 3. Creates and/or acquires content for website(s), social media, and other digital communication channels for the eLearning and Instructional Technology Division. 4. Creates, edits, and proofreads website content. 5. Implements opportunities for improving user experience following WCAG for accessibility 6. Analyze SEO and site usage statistics to maximize information delivery, enhance visibility, and increase engagement. 7. Responds to inquiries received via web-channels and disseminates to appropriate personnel. 8. Develops an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics. 9. Follows and recommends graphic, visual, and web identity (brand) style guides. 10. Assists in deploying a web-based marketing and recruitment strategy that aligns with the vision and mission of the eLearning and Instructional Technology Division and the MCCB. 11. Produces and/or coordinates the design and production of digital assets for the eLearning and Instructional Technology Division – including digital MSVCC and eLITE newsletters, web copy, graphics, video and photographic assets for strategic use in digital communication channels. 12. Assists in creating engaging text, image, and video content for online and print materials for the eLearning and Instructional Technology Division. 13. Oversees and designs eLearning and Instructional Technology Division social media account layouts and posts. 14. Utilizes social media and other forms of networking to achieve strategy objectives. 15. Stays up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness. 16. Trains on the use of social media in a cohesive and beneficial way and engages colleagues into social media communication. 17. Assists with the customization of Canvas and Canvas Catalog branding by creating and maintaining custom CSS and JavaScript files. 18. Works collaboratively with agency divisions on development of additional website, social media, and multimedia projects. 19. Performs all other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree (preferred) from an accredited four year institution in communications, marketing, computer science, or a related field. Above high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma), related education and special experience may be substituted on an equal basis, except there shall be no substitution for the three (3) years’ experience developing and managing web creating using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while consistently working in a CSM platform.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing and managing web creating using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while consistently working in a content management system (Cascade experience preferred), tracking digital analytics, SEO implementation, and adherence to ADA requirements.  Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud.  Experience creating digital content.  Basic knowledge of API calls.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills
