Tallied three mult-hit games - in DH against LMU on March l st went 4-for-5 with I run and 2 RBI .. . 2 RB I aga inst Chapman. 2001: Started and played in 39 games for the Toreros. Batted .208 with 7 doub les, 3 triples, 2 homers and 12 RBIs. Was l-fo r-4 with 2 runs and 4 RBI against Tulsa (March 9), 2-fo r-2 against Santa Clara (March 3 1), and 3-fo r-4 with two doub les at Santa Clara (April 8). Named to the WI SLAll -Academic Team. 2000: Appeared in 44 games for the Toreros in her fres hman season. Co ll o recorded 2 1 hits, I I RBI , three runs, two doubl es and two trip les. She posted two multi-hit games, versus Long Beach State

(2-for-3) and Azusa Pac ific (2-for-3). Co llo batted .198 and talli ed a solid .970 fie lding percentage. Prep: Attended La Costa Canyon Hi gh Schoo l and lettered four years in softball. In her senior year, Co llo was named San Diego Union-Tribune Athlete of the Month, Coca-Co la Player of the Year, Avocado League Player of the Year and Uni on-Tribune Scholar Athlete of the Year. Desiree was also named J st team A ll -League and Ist team A II-CIF as her team won the Division l League Championship and were CIF Finali sts. Junior year, led her team to a Di vision I League Championship and CIF Champi onship. Played for the San Diego Lightning Go ld club team w ith squad pl ac ing 5th at Nati onals.

She is a Psycho logy major and Speech Communicati ons minor. Dean's Scholarship rec ipient. She was also recru ited by Troy State, Loyola Marymount, Cal Po ly SLO, UCSD and UC Berkeley. Her older sister, Shaunna also pl ayed at USD.

Among returners , ranked second in hitting after batting .244 with I I runs, 2 doubles and 9 RBI. Tallied six multi-hit games with a best of3-for-4 ( I run , I RBI) outing against Saint Mary's in the WISL Tournament. Scored 2 runs in three different contests. 2001: Played in 29 games with 20 starts. Totaled three multi-hit games with two hits against Azusa Pacific (March 3rd), Saint Mary 's Co llege (March 14th) and UC Riverside (May 4th). Against Riverside was 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored. Named to WISL All-Academic team.

Prep: Prepped at Notre Dame High School where she lettered in softball, volleyball and basketball. She earned the coaches award and most insp irational award in softba ll while leading her team to a Monterey Bay League Championsh ip. Mi ller also earned second team A ll -County honors in vo lleyball. She has played travel softba ll for the Sal inas Valley Wi ldcats, San Jose Stri kers and Salinas Storm.
