The Motorcycle Grand Prix , which brings the world’s best riders to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste every year, is another of the attractions for adrenalin lovers. Furthermore, the city boasts the Mestalla, València Football Club’s stadium ; Levante Unión Deportiva’s Ciutat de València stadium; the Fonteta de Sant Lluis pavilion, home of València Basketball Club ; and numerous facilities for different sports. A most Valencian sport, pilota (a type of handball), can be enjoyed every Thursday and Saturday afternoon at the trinquet in Calle Pelayo.

A love of running stands out, with races such as the Trinidad Alfonso Half Marathon , the Marathon and the 5K Turia Gardens Circuit, a route for runners of almost 6,000 metres along the old course of the river. The proximity of the sea also facilitates water sports, with events such as the Queen’s Cup at the València Royal Nautical Club and the València Boat Show at the Juan Carlos I Royal Marina.
