What are the costs of renting the venue?

Do you have any exclusive vendors? Restaurant Associates is the exclu- sive caterer at the Intrepid Museum. From time to time, there may be other exclusive vendors, which Intrepid will communicate upon initial inquiry. Intrepid also offers a preferred vendor list for any of your other event needs. Can more than one event occur at the same time? The Special Events department will determine the number of events that may occur simultaneously and will ensure that any one event will not be disrupted by another. Is tenting permitted? Tenting is permitted on the Flight Deck and the Pier. Please see our preferred vendor list in this brochure for tenting companies. Is security available for events? Intrepid security is required for each special event. Events requiring additional outside security must be approved bymanagement. Is smoking permitted at the Intrepid? New York City regulations prohibit smoking anywhere on the premises, including Pier 86. Individuals found smokingwillbeaskedto leavetheevent andthepremises.Smoking ispermitted only outside the museum complex.

Does the Intrepid provide access for persons with disabilities? The Intrepid Museum complex is ADA compliant, except for the Growler Submarine and the Concorde. Can banners, signs, or other décor be hung in the event area? Banners and signs are permitted for your event. Clients will speak to the event manager regarding specific rulesandregulations.Existingmuseum signage cannot be moved. All event signage must be removed following the event.

Rental prices are quoted upon request andbasedonspacesusedfortheevent. Additionally, in-houseproductioncosts, suchassecurity,setup,andbreakdown crews, are itemized for each event and includealllabornecessarytomakeyour event a success. How do I hold a date? The desired date of your event can be placed on hold. Once the client confirmstheevent,Intrepidwillprovide a contract. A 50-percent deposit of the total fee is required. Deposits are non-refundable. Is insurance required for events? Insurance is required for each event. Specific insurance requirements are listed in the special event contract. Rental fees are based on a four-hour event.Overtimechargeswillbe incurred for each additional hour or portion thereof. Event setup may not begin until the museum closes to the public. Exceptions may be made depending on the production and with manage- ment approval. Is there parking available for guests at the venue? Youmaycontractwithanoutsidevendor for valet parking. Thereare commercial parking lots within walking distance of Intrepid. What time can my event start and end?

The interior of the museum and the Space Shuttle Pavilion are air-conditioned and heated.
