ID CARD SYSTEM
1. Christiansburg Recreation Center ID cards are required during all hours of operation unless otherwise stated. IDs must be scanned at the recreation center supervisor and equipment station upon entering the center. 2. Parents must obtain an ID card for children 5 years of age or older. 3. Persons wishing to use the recreation center must have a current ID or pay $5 for a daily pass. 4. All persons purchasing a daily pass must complete a day pass application. Children under the age of 18 must have a par ent or legal guardian sign their day pass. 5. Town of Christiansburg Residents/Real Estate Taxpayers who wish to have an ID card must show a minimum of two proofs of residency. No P.O. Boxes. These ID cards will be free upon confirmation of residency proofs. (The Town of Christians burg reserves the right at any time to request updated or additional documentation to verify residence.) a. Be a real estate taxpayer of the Town of Christiansburg Be a Town of Christiansburg resident based upon proof of residency shall consist of a minimum of two proofs of residency as defined below. No P.O. Boxes. A. 1) First Proof – must have a valid driver’s license (or DMV ID card) indicating Town of Christiansburg residency. A. 2) If student residing in the Town of Christiansburg, Town of Christiansburg business owner or Town of Christiansburg landowner and their primary residency is not in the Town of Christiansburg the individual must provide valid driver’s license or DMV ID card indicating their primary residency. This will be mandatory but will not serve as a proof of residency. B. 1) Second Proof - may consist of copy of certified deed to property within the Town of Chris tiansburg, GIS confirmation matching Town of Christiansburg address and the property or business owner, signed lease agreement between the Town of Christiansburg real estate taxpaying property owner of residence and the individual seeking membership matching the address of the driver’s license or DMV ID Card. B. 2) If student residing in the Town of Christiansburg, Town of Christiansburg business owner or Town of Christiansburg land owner this documentation would serve as your first proof of residency. C. Third Proof – may consist of copy of current Town of Christiansburg real-estate property tax receipt, automobile registration card, voter registration card or utility bill matching the address of proof A or B. We do not accept insurance information, cell phone bills, pay stubs, W2s or any other info that is not from the DMV or paid on the property. (The Town of Christiansburg reserves the right at any time to request updated or additional docu mentation to verify residence.) b. Residency Memberships are for maximum of one year. If resident or business moves out of the Town of Christiansburg or the Town of Christiansburg land is sold it will be the responsibility of the card holder to update their membership. Failure to do so, will revoke membership immediately and could institute future penalties and possible failure to acquire mem bership. Falsifying proof of residency will institute termination of current membership, minimum of one year suspension from all Town of Christiansburg Parks and Recreation and Aquatic facilities, programs and events along with failure to acquire resident or non-resident membership in the future. (The Town of Christiansburg reserves the right at any time to request updated or additional documentation to verify residence.) 6. Business owners that have an office inside the town limits may also receive a free ID, but must show the following: • A real estate property tax ticket showing that they own property where the business is located • If leasing a business space, a lease showing the office is inside town limits and a utility bill (the addresses on all 3 doc uments must match). The membership will be made for the duration of the lease, but no longer than one year. 7. Persons that do not live in town, do not own property or do not have a business in Christiansburg may purchase a mem bership: * Family defined as two adults (18+ years old) residing at the same address and their legal dependents under the age of 25. Legal dependents age 19–25 must be full-time college students. ** Two adults living at the same address must be over 50 years of age. *** Family defined as two adults (18+), at least one person over 50, residing at the same address and their legal dependents under the age of 25. Legal dependents age 19–25 must be full-time college students TRY US FREE FOR ONE WEEK! The Christiansburg Recreation Center is more than just a gym, it is a community. Stop by the front desk to receive your free 7-day pass. 10. Christiansburg Recreation Center ID cards are not required to participate in Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs. 11. Participation fees and non–resident/taxpayer fees will be charged to participate in Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs. 12. There will be a $5 charge for replacement ID cards. 13. Left ID cards will be discarded after 3 weeks, resulting in the need for a replacement ID. 14. There will be an administration fee of $25 for membership refunds. 8. ID cards are only used to utilize facilities in the Christiansburg Recreation Center during stated hours. 9. ID cardholders must pay participation fees to participate in Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs.
