Automatic crimping

The EASY software of the 6-Series, with touch screen interface and icon-based menus, is implemented in the 3-Series. The newly developed processing station UniCrimp 220 A, with the integrated crimp force monitoring CFM 20 and optional programmable crimp height adjustment, transmits the efficient power of the CrimpCenter 36 to the crimp application. Integrated quality assurance during production includes pull force measuring, splice detection and micrograph analysis. Tominimise downtime, theToolingShuttle 30 combines applicator, terminal reel and paper winder in one mobile quick- change unit. The networking software EASY ProductionServer for central order assignment optimises the order sequence. Using standard TCP/IP, the new CrimpCenter 36 can easily be integrated in networks worldwide. sections from 0.13mm to 4mm. Modern manufacturing materials and patented technologies result in a compact, eco- nomic design without compromising the quality standards of Schleuniger’s 6-Series, while the synchronised ethernet powerlink ensures fast and continuous communication between the software and the five servo drives.

The new, fully automatic crimping machine from Schleuniger combines high precision technology with a compact new design, complementing the proven high performance 6-Series with the new economy 3-Series. The Schleuniger CrimpCenter 36 holds up to six processing stations and is suitable for a variety of applications with cross

Self-contained respooling

Reel-O-Matic the ‘Cat-Walk,’ a new range of heavy-duty shaftless payoff and take-up cable processing systems, where the payoff and take-up units are integrated onto one platform. The Cat-Walk can be operated to respool material from any vantage point, up to several hundred feet away using a wireless radio remote control. It is powered by an AC vector variable speed torque controlled drive system which produces increased respooling speeds of up to 115rpm. The FMPT4 is designed to handle reel diameters of up to 60 inch OD and weighing up to 4,000lbs. The FMP8 payout system is engineered to support reels up to 60" OD and weighing up to 8,000lb. The FMP8 includes a hydraulically powered payoff and rewind assist, which feeds and rewinds cable to and from the FMPT4. The potentiometer controlled electro- magnetic brake provides adjustable back tension during the spooling operation and prevents the supply reel from overspinning when the take-up drive slows down or stops. arms on both the payoff and take-up units during loading and unloading operations. The Cat-Walk also includes a powered AC vector automatic level wind system, which is synchronised with the drive of the FMPT4. The powered traverse can also be operated manually by selector switch. An hydraulically activated clamping system is included with the electronic measuring system. This is engaged to prevent the material from slipping back out of the process line after cutting. A pushbutton, hydrau- lically activated cutter may be integrated into the system if required.

Larger capacity models are available.
