Jake responded, "Ooooo There are soooo many ways to steal. I can grab you and take your wallet. I can sell you something with parts missing. Or, I can tax you and spend your money on me. The last one, if it's done right, is where the big action is. People think they are getting something and don't even miss the money. Take those projects. Any idea why they were built?" Mac gave the obvious answer, "Housing for low income people." Jake groaned, then sighed, then clarified, "First you got to sell the thing. Sell big. The great society. Lyndon Johnson set up a new department to create housing for the poor, to create jobs, and develop the urban environment. Hell, that takes billions. More important than getting to the moon. Problem is, any ass hole can see when we get to the moon. Projects are something else. Who's gonna look inside? Anybody other than your dad been around looking in these rat traps? Is there a great society inside those buildings? But money was spent. Yes sir. We figure close to a trillion dollars. Now ask yourself, how well off would the poor folks be, if we just sprinkled a trillion dollars out of planes as they flew over? I don't know, but, I bet a hell of a lot better off than those folks are. Where did that money go? Is there a trillion dollars in assets to be seen? It's like that chlorine leak. You assume a small leak only to find a bottomless pit. What consumed the missing chlorine? What consumed the missing money? Did any money actually go to poor black folks? Hell, to any poor folks? You see brothers spending billions? They ain't got dick. There's these dudes in Washington, Rozet, Ross, Moses, all white rich lawyers connected by huge political support to the presidential candidates, senators, and congress people. They wrote most of the federal housing law that governs this mess. They MADE the rules. Those three alone own over fifty thousand projects and apartments and have more than a half billion in tax credits.
