Someone once said that the first week at the University of San Diego could be the most important week of your life. Those who experience Ori– entation Week know that this is true. For many it was their first time away from home1 for others it was a week of new people1 new places1 and new experiences. All the craziness began with opening day and the surprise square dance. The next day started with the memorable Sports Day and how can you miss with a night at Sea World with the pengulns1 Shamu and dancing to the sounds of "The Toys. 11 The week continued with a Hawaiian Luau and Tom Parks for entertain– ment. The annual USO Sand Castle contest was next followed that night by an evening of gambling1 dancing and fun - Casino Night. The week finally wound down with shopping trips and Labor Day Olympics. Overall it proved to be a wonder– fully new and exciting week that re– sulted with many new-found friend– ships.
