Senior Living Handbook 2018

Time off for other losses is to be treated as vacation or approved unpaid time. Approval and amount of time off is at the discretion of the Executive Director.

JURY DUTY

If you are summoned for jury service or subpoenaed as a witness in a trial or hearing for which you are not a party at interest, show your summons to the Executive Director promptly and they will arrange your absence. Team members who work other than the first shift should check with their supervisor regarding work requirements during any week or part of a week they are summoned for jury duty. Team members selected for jury duty will be compensated with regular pay from HHHunt, based on the team member’s normal schedule during their absence. Compensation will be paid after the submission of documents showing the time served to the state. This compensation period cannot exceed ten working days (two weeks). Absences exceeding ten working days will be taken as unpaid leave unless the team member chooses to use vacation time.

FAMILY & MEDICAL LEAVE ACT (FMLA)

HHHunt is covered under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) and complies with all FMLA requirements. The FMLA provides eligible team members up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in a 12-month period for the reasons below, except that they may take up to 26 weeks of leave in a single 12-month period to care for a covered service member with a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty. The leave may be paid, unpaid or a combination, depending upon the circumstances and as specified in this policy.
