Kyle Slusser returns for his third year with the Toreros and hi s second as a starter in the Toreros secondary at safety ... last year he earned 2nd Team All-Pioneer Football League honors after leading USO in tackles (85; 53 unassisted) and interceptions (6) ... he twice earned PFL Defensive Player of the Week honors -- on Sept. 26th against Cal Lu he tallied 9 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 forced fumble; on Oct. 3rd vs. Central Connecticut he recorded IO tackles (9 unassisted), l fumble recovery, l interception and 1pass break-up ... he also posted 14 tackles (Fairfield) and 13 tackles (Dayton) ... in I997 he appeared in 8 contests finishing with 13 tackles and l interception ... also recruited by UC Davis, Western Michigan, Cornell and Brown ... prepped at Alta Loma High

Aaron Garrison returns for hi s senior year after sitting outlast year's campaign recovering from a torn ACL knee injury ... in 1997 he earned 2nd Team All-Pioneer Football League honors after anchoring the Torero offensive line that helped USD's offense to 3,848 yards of total offense (1,363 rushing; 2,485 passing) ... during '97 season, played in first four games before injurying knee; he mi ssed the Evansville and Butler games, then returned to play the rest of the season ... prior to USO he played the 1996 season at Grossmont JC where he was a First Team All-Conference selection ; and played his first collegiate year at West Hills JC in 1995 where he started every game at defensive end ... a native ofOceanside, California, Aaron prepped at Oceanside Hi gh School where he lettered in varsity football for three years ... he was All-League his senior year and was selected to play in the Annual Hi gh School All-Star game the summer after hi s graduation ...
