Meet The Toreros

12 Chris Lamb returns for hi s junior season with the Toreros where he will again compete for a starting position on the offensive line at tackle ... last season he started for the Toreros the majority of the season ... pri or to USO he prepped at Servite High School where he helped hi s team to an 11-2 mark and runner-up fi ni sh in the State Championship game ... seni or year he earned All-League recogniti on in the Golden West League and was Team Captain of the offensive line ... he also earned Honorabl e Mention All-League statu s as a basketball player ... hi s dad (Bob) pl ayed football at the Uni versity of Washington, and hi s brother (Marc) pl ayed at Montana and with the New York Giants ... also recruited by Boise State, Montana, Idaho and DePaul ... David Lembo enters hi s third season with the Torero offensive unit -- he sat out the 1998 campaign after injuring hi s knee in football camp ... a two-year letterman, Dav id backed

up Jared Keo at fullback in 1997, appearing in 9 games with 136 yards on 30 carries (4. 5 yards per carry average) ... he busted loose for a 27 yard gain against Azusa Pacific, fini shing the game with 41 yards on 7 carries ... caught a 4-yard TD pass from Mike Stadl er against Wagner ... in 1996 he appeared in 6 games, fini shing with 26 yards (long of JO yards vs. Cal Lu) ... he prepped at Mesa High Schoo l in Mesa, Arizona -- hi s senior year the football team went I 0-0, won the East Vall ey Conference and fini shed first in the state rankings ... he was a First Team All – State selection ... baseball team won two East Valley Conference titl es and twice he was named Honorable Menti on All -State. Brian Luman enters hi s second season with USO after starting every game at defensive back hi s freshman year ... fini shed 9th on the team in tackles with 37 (23 unass isted) and

ti ed for second on the team in interceptions with 4 ... in hi s first collegiate start against Wagner he tallied 4 tackl es and had one interception ... against Redl ands he posted season-best marks of 8 tackl es and 2 interceptions ... he prepped at Ashl and High School in Ashl and , Oregon where he helped lead hi s team to a I 0- 1 mark hi s seni or year ... was a Ist Team All-Southern Oregon Conference selection and 3rd Team All-State pi ck ... he also lettered in track where he earned Ist Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State recogniti on ... thi s past summer was a featured dancer with the State Ballet of Oregon; he has danced since 1990 ... also recruited by Will amette, Oregon and St. Mary's ... the receiving corp .. . in 7 contests last season he fi ni shed with 13 receptions for 155 yards ( I 1.9 yards per catch) with a long of 41 yards versus Drake ... he averaged 12.8 yards on 11 punt returns and 20.3 yards on 8 ki ckoff return s ... in 1997 he played in all 11 games as a DB fini shing with I4 tac kl es, 2 fumbl e recoveri es and 2 pass break-ups ... posted 4 stops against Saint Mary's ... in I996 as a freshman saw action on both sides of the ball at defensive back and wide receiver ... in five games caught 5 passes fo r 4 1 yards with a long of 12 versus Saint Mary's .. . defensively fi ni shed with 6 tackles, I pass defl ection and I intercepti on ... he returned the interception 20 yards in win over Cal Lu ... in season fin al, caught 2 ball s against Dayton for 12 yards ... prepped at Montclair HS where he was a two– time All-Mt. Baldy League selection at both receiver and defensive back .. . was a CIF qualifier in both wrestling

Sean Mc Carney enters hi s seni or season where he will compete for the starting center spot on the offensive line ... Sean has been part of the Torero foo tball program the past two seasons after transferring from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota ... in the weight room he ranked second overall when combining four lifts -- clean (28 1), jerk (300), squ at (405 ) and bench (300) .. . from Chicago, Illinois, he prepped at Loyola Academy and played on teams that were crowned both Prep Bowl Champs (seni or year) and State Champions (sophomore year) ... also recruited by Dayton, Drake, Tufts and Valparaiso ... chose USO fo r its small classes, quality academics and strong athletics program ... Major: Biology; Minor: Chemi stry.
